The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have actually risen the rate of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.

In an area that has one of the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one organization is taking advantage of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving rewarding too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
