West Brom Set Return Date for Injured Semi Ajayi

bet9ja.com
West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray has confirmed that Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi is expected to return from his hamstring injury before the end of the season.

Ajayi limped off during last weekend’s match against Oxford, raising concerns about his availability for the remainder of the campaign. However, Mowbray has reassured fans that the Nigerian center back should be back within the next few weeks.

"Semi will be back hopefully in a few weeks for the run-in. I’m pretty sure he will, we’ve got eight or nine weeks of the season left, so I am confident he will return before then," Mowbray stated.

Ajayi’s recovery will be closely monitored, as West Brom looks to secure a strong finish in the English Championship. His return could also be crucial for Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Semi Ajayi’s injury has come at a challenging time for both West Brom and the Super Eagles. As a key figure in West Brom’s defence, his absence has been felt, and his return could be pivotal in the club’s push for a playoff spot in the Championship.

For Nigeria, the news is both positive and concerning. While Ajayi is expected back before the end of the season, his availability for the crucial World Cup qualifiers remains uncertain. The Super Eagles must consider backup options in case he does not regain full fitness in time.

West Brom will need to manage his recovery carefully to avoid further setbacks. Hamstring injuries can be tricky, and rushing him back too soon could risk aggravating the issue. However, if Ajayi returns at full strength, he could play a decisive role for both club and country in the coming months.

The Super Eagles face Rwanda and in their next set of World Cup qualifiers, matches that could determine their path to the 2026 tournament.
