Super Eagles Star Ramon Azeez Invests ₦2 Billion in Ultra-Modern Hotel

bit.ly
Former Super Eagles midfielder Ramon Azeez is investing over ₦2 billion to build an ultra-modern hotel in Lagos' bustling Abule Egba neighbourhood, where he grew up. The project, which is approximately 60% complete, is being developed with support from a top Nigerian bank and will feature 80 rooms, a massive conference hall, a swimming pool, and other luxurious facilities.

Azeez, who captained Nigeria to victory in the 2011 U20 AFCON and spent years playing in Spain's La Liga, is taking his entrepreneurial ventures seriously. A source close to the player described him as a "focused person" actively involved in business. In addition to the hotel, Azeez reportedly owns 10 other properties in the Abule Egba area, collectively valued at around ₦500 million.

Currently 32 and without a football club since his stint with Granada CF in the 2020/21 season, Azeez’s investment marks a significant step in leveraging his earnings from football to establish a long-term business legacy.

Editorial

Ramon Azeez’s decision to invest in an ultra-modern hotel reflects a commendable shift among Nigerian footballers toward securing their financial futures. By channelling his earnings into property development, Azeez sets an example for other athletes on sustaining wealth beyond their playing careers.

This venture highlights the growing potential for sports professionals to contribute to Nigeria’s economic development. Such investments enhance their legacies, create job opportunities, and foster community growth. The Abule Egba project is poised to become a landmark in the area, reflecting Azeez’s commitment to his roots.
