Twin Daughters of lA Official Arrested for Assault In ICE Riots

The twin children of a senior Los Angeles official were jailed in the ICE riots on Sunday night, where they apparently attacked an authorities officer with a lethal weapon.

Lucia Aguilar Cole, 26, who serves as the Community Growth and Economic Innovation Deputy for the Los Angeles City Council, was taken into custody around 7pm in addition to her sister, Antonia, according to LA Sheriff's Department records.

The women are the children of Rick Cole - the city's current Chief Deputy Controller and a previous mayor of Pasadena. They were arrested during discontent that saw protesters hurling rocks and other items from a bridge on to the 101 Freeway, where squad car were positioned below.

But it remains uncertain what the alleged deadly weapon was or why they were jailed.

Speaking at an anti-ICE protest on Sunday, Cole said he knew his daughters had been jailed.

'I have actually simply seen pictures of my 2 daughters on a curb in downtown Los in handcuffs,' he told the crowd, according to Los Angeles magazine. 'So I'm going to be finding out where they are so I can go bail them out.'

Cole did not react to a demand for comment from DailyMail.com.

Twins daughters of Los Angeles Chief Deputy Controller Rick Cole - Lucia Aguilar Cole, 26, (left) and Antonia (right) - were detained in the ICE riots around 7pm Sunday for presumably attacking a law enforcement officer with a fatal weapon

Rick is among LA's top officials having actually spent four decades serving in different roles as Pasadena's Mayor, Councilmember and City Manager of the cities of Azusa, Ventura and Santa Monica

Since Monday, both Lucia - who utilizes they/them pronouns and passes Luz - (bottom right) and Antonia (bottom left) remain in custody on a $50,000 bond

Lucia, who goes by 'Luz' and uses 'they/them' pronouns, is also a staffer for LA City board member Ysabel Jurado, who caused a scandal in October 2024 when she was recorded throughout her project saying 'What's the rap verse? F ** k the police, that's how I see them,' in reaction to a concern about abolishing polices.

On Monday, Jurado informed the LA Times that Aguilar had been placed on unpaid leave.

'The allegations are deeply worrying and I take them extremely seriously,' the councilwoman stated.

'While I appreciate the person's right to due process, I hold my team to the highest requirements of conduct.'

As of Monday, the 2 children of the top LA political family stayed in the 77th Street prison after being scheduled and hung on $50,000 bail.

According to law practice Cron, Israels & Stark, conviction for their declared offense can fetch a prison sentence of in between 3 and five years.

Their dad Rick has actually invested four years as a senior authorities and leader in LA County, acting as Pasadena Mayor, Council member and City Manager of the cities of Azusa, Ventura and Santa Monica.

He currently functions as the Chief Deputy Controller for the LA and previously functioned as the city's Deputy Mayor for Budget and Innovation.

The riots in the city were stimulated by a slew of raids by federal migration authorities ordered by the Trump Administration.

LA City Council member Ysabel Jurado has actually placed Aguilar on overdue leave. 'The allegations are deeply concerning and I take them very seriously,' she stated

Unrest has actually covered the city's streets for 3 days and led to rioters clashing with police as policemans have resorted to utilizing rubber bullets and shooting tear gas

Some protestors have also set Waymo cars on fire in downtown LA as thousands gathered to object migration sweeps in the city

Trump sends Marines in to LA riots and threatens to detain 'criminal' Gavin Newsom: Live updates

Unrest has actually spanned the city's streets for 3 days and resulted in rioters clashing with law enforcement, taking over the 101 highway and setting cars and trucks on fire, while authorities reacted by firing tear gas and rubber bullets - with some catching reporters in the crossfire.

California leaders have actually slammed Trump for what they see as deliberately whipping up the dispute with unneeded action, prompting more civil unrest by commandeering the National Guard from state control and sending out 2,000 soldiers into the city.

California Governor Gavin Newsom promised to take legal action against the administration over the move which he called 'an illegal act, an unethical act, an unconstitutional act' in an interview with MSNBC.

'He's worsened the conditions. He's lit the proverbial match,' Newsom stated.

'These anarchists that are in there to produce real problems, and they're just playing right into Donald Trump's hand. And they need to be called out. They require to be jailed.

'It is incorrect to destroy other people's residential or commercial property, and it is incorrect to create the conditions that just worsen this. But Donald Trump, at the end of the day, is the sponsor of these conditions.'

LA Council member Eunisses Hernandez was recorded telling a crowd of anti-ICE protestors that the federal migration firm understands 'how quickly we set in motion, that's why they're changing methods.

'Because neighborhood defense works and our resistance has slowed them down before ... and if they're escalating their methods then so are we. When they appear, we got ta show up even more powerful.'

Hernandez doubled down on her support of the anti-ICE demonstrations in a television interview with NBCLA.

When asked by anchor Colleen Williams, 'Would you advise [protestors] to remain within the confines of the law out there?'

Hernandez replied, 'What I would state is that individuals who are out there opposing, be safe. Remember that we require all neighborhood members to be able to "throw down" in future emergencies.'

California Governor Gavin Newsom has been a big critic of President Trump's choice to hijack the National Guard from state control and send in 2,000 soldiers into the city, saying he is whipping up the dispute with unneeded action

Luz Aguilar Cole states on their LinkedIn page that they are a 'Financial Activist', 'Environmentalist', and 'Affordable Housing Advocate'.

Luz worked as a research study analyst for Pacific Community Ventures (PCV) in Oakland, California from September 2023 to February this year and is a graduate of the University of California, Davis.

Their bio on the website states they look for 'to weave together the intersections of social, financial, and climate justice to attend to systemic problems facing our regional and global neighborhood.'

Luz's manager, Councilwoman Jurado, is a noted critic of LA's police department.

During the campaign for her council seat in 2015, Jurado was recorded being asked about eliminating police.

'What's the rap verse? F- the police, that's how I see 'em,' she responded.

She later informed ABC7 News: 'I estimated a lyric from a tune that's been part of a bigger conversation on systemic oppression and cops accountability for decades. But it was simply a lyric ... My dedication to public safety remains as strong as ever.'

After her election to LA council district 14, Jurado was captured in another debate when she was photographed seeming asleep at her chamber seat during a closed February session.

Jurado informed ABC7: 'It looks like I read, and if undoubtedly I did doze off, I believe this will not be the first or last of the human minutes that I have as a council member,'
