Rangers International transfers Kazeem to FK Partizani in strategic move

Rangers International FC has confirmed the transfer of Kazeem Ogunleye to Albanian club FK Partizani, marking a significant step in the young midfielder’s career and strengthening international ties between the two clubs.

The 18 year old attacking midfielder joined Rangers in August 2023 from Plateau United, reuniting with coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, under whom he previously played. In his short time at the club, Ogunleye made a notable impact, scoring six goals including four stunning free kicks and providing six assists in the 2023/24 NPFL season.

One of his most memorable moments was his match-winning free kick against Rivers United, which secured Rangers’ first victory over them since 2019/2020.

Rangers International FC expressed gratitude for his contributions and wished him in his new chapter at FK Partizani. The move highlights Rangers’ commitment to nurturing young talent and building international partnerships.

Editorial

Kazeem Ogunleye’s transfer to FK Partizani represents a significant opportunity for both the player and Nigerian football. His quick rise in the NPFL, particularly his set-piece prowess, suggests that he is a promising talent with the potential to make an impact in European football.

For Rangers International FC, this move underscores their role as a developmental club, producing players ready to compete internationally. More NPFL clubs should look to establish such transfer pathways, ensuring that young Nigerian players have better exposure and opportunities in competitive European leagues.

Ogunleye's journey will be closely monitored, as a strong performance in Albania could open doors for bigger European clubs. If he adapts well, he could follow in the footsteps of other Nigerian players who used smaller leagues as stepping stones to major European competitions.
